Is your family storm ready?

In the last blog, we discussed how to keep the outside of your home storm ready when storm season is upon us. There are also ways to keep your family and inside of your family safe when storms could hit. Keep these tips in mind, and tell your family so you can all be prepared if a disaster strikes:

1. Have a generator for freezers, or remove items to another area with electricity. 
2. Have a safety plan with a safety kit 
3. Know that these appliances need to be unplugged and turned off so they don't overload and blow a circuit or blow out your appliance. 

• Electric space heaters
• Stoves
• Washers and dryer
• TV
• Microwave ovens
• Computers
• Refrigerators and freezers

When you have a safety plan and have your home storm proofed, you can plan for a better emergency.
