Candle Safety 

When it comes to your home, there are a variety of ways that fire damages can happen inside. When of those that impact several thousand homes a year, are candle fires. We all love candles and having them to light in our home; however, they do cause a potential risk for causing a fire. Here are a few tips to keep your home smelling good while also enjoying candles in a safe way: 

• Keep children away from candles and anything with an open flame 
• Try to keep anything that hangs low (especially fabric) away from the candle
• Keep lit candles in safe candle holders
• Do not light candles in the bedroom. You might fall asleep. 
• If someone in the home uses oxygen, do not use candles
• Put out candles when leaving any room in your home

Candles are great for a home when it comes to decor and style, but try to keep them away from the triggers above. Safety is key!
